Welcome to Katz Deli, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Charlotte, North Carolina, at 8624 Camfield St. Known for its incredible comfort food and a menu that celebrates traditional deli fare, Katz Deli has rapidly become a local favorite. When you walk through the doors, you’re greeted by the irresistible aroma of sizzling meats and fresh bread, reminiscent of authentic delis found in New York City.
At Katz Deli, every dish tells a story. Customers rave about the Reuben sandwich, often hailed as "the best ever" by ecstatic diners. It’s not just a sandwich; it’s a comforting hug on a plate. Reviewers like Stephanie Lasky are transported back to their childhoods, drawing memories of their Bubbie's kugel, highlighting the deli’s dedication to authenticity and quality. The meticulously crafted sandwiches, perfectly complemented by sides like creamy macaroni and potato salads, provide a feast for both the eyes and the palate.
The atmosphere at Katz Deli is equally inviting. Patrons feel like part of a family, thanks to the friendly staff who remember regulars by name. Eric Lucier noted this familial ambiance, urging everyone to experience the warmth and welcome of Katz Deli. It's a place where strangers become friends over shared meals and laughter. The deli embraces a sense of community, further confirming its status as more than just a dining spot — it’s a gathering place.
Vegetarian and gluten-free guests can also indulge; the staff goes above and beyond to accommodate dietary preferences. Douglas S emphasizes how bringing your own gluten-free bread results in "the best sandwich of your life," showcasing the deli’s commitment to inclusivity without compromising on flavor.
Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a leisurely meal, Katz Deli is a must-visit destination. As Asian Adventures highlights, the authenticity rivals even the most acclaimed delis in Brooklyn, making it a worthy evolution of the classic deli experience. So, if you’re in Charlotte, make it a point to stop by Katz Deli — your taste buds will thank you, and your heart will find a home.

Hands down the BEST deli in town! The Reuben was amazing and the kugel reminded me of the kugel my Bubbie used to make
Amazing food and great people here. They are very friendly and if you bring your own gluten free bread they will happily make you the best sandwich of your life.
Absolutely amazing food! I had the Ruben and it was literally the best I've ever had. Their macaroni and potato salads were great and the hotdog was super legit! The staff are wonderful, friendly and seem to know everyone on a first name basis as soon as they walk in. Very family feeling here! Run, don't walk to get here and get yourself setup by these amazing people!!!
Recently found out there is a Katz's Deli a few miles from where I work. I went there today and it brought me back to my grandma's kitchen in Astoria on Sunday evening. We got a corned beef sandwich, pastrami, knives, Pickles, cucumber salad, Slaw, a quart of matzo ball soup and a hot dog for the drive home. Everything was delicious and I will definitely be back frequently.
Excellent deli! Possibly the best in Charlotte. I went with my step day who was born and raised in Brooklyn and used to go to a Katz deli there when he was younger. He swears it must be the same people down here because it tastes exactly how he remembers Katz in NY. Anyway, the sandwiches are incredible and worth a drive from far and wide. My step dad said he has yet another reason to visit us now that he's been here. Come try it out, you won't be disappointed and you'll be supporting a locally owned company!
Top notch! Friendly greeting and service. I love the Family mural on the wall, you can tell that they take a lot of pride and what they do. I had the chicken salad bagel & pasta salad- it was so delicious.
Hours are limited so pay attention. Ingredients are extremely fresh and delicious. It's not Kosher - I wish they would just not serve Pork and/or Shellfish period - Who the heck needs that junk. Anyways, disappointed that they don't serve Hard Salami. Nevertheless, Pastrami was tasty and juice and served on delicious fresh seedless rye bread all the way from Rockland Bakery. Pickles were garlicky and delicious. Service was quick and friendly - they made it their business to get to know me. Friendly crowd that seemed to be amused by my banter with the Owner, Lee - who is truly a "Mensch" - Will definitely be returning. Really enjoyed my visit! Full selection of Dr. Brown's Sodas - Greatly enjoyed my visit! Thank You Lee!
I love Katz deli. It’s my favorite place to grab breakfast or lunch on the weekend. Me being originally from NY, it’s a rare treat to find a deli like this. Smiling faces, great food, and good service. Everything made fresh. It reminds me of my college town deli in Binghamton NY. My favorite dish is the Jim’s Way omelet that they modify to “Cory’s Way” with sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. Add a little red hot on top and it’s pretty much my idea of a perfect omelet. Potato pancakes are delicious. Everything they make is top notch. Their reuben open face sandwich is fantastic also. Just a great place if you like deli style dining (and have a moderate addiction to sauerkraut and corned beef )
